Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Assume duties and responsibilities of project plumbing engineer/designer on projects where appropriate.
  • Prepare schematic design documents including basis of design narratives.
  • Develop plumbing design drawings utilizing Revit, and written specifications.
  • Perform required engineering design calculations.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Communicate with all team members to understand and resolve project challenges that arise, and/or consult with more experienced engineers to gain a deeper understanding of alternative design strategies.
  • Perform construction administration duties including shop drawing submittal review, responding to RFIs, preparing construction bulletins, and project site observations.
  • Be responsible for coordinating and delegating work tasks to BIM technicians.
  • Attend project design meetings and be proficient in communicating the plumbing design to clients.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Professional license (PE, Designer of Engineered Systems, or CPD), preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or State of Wisconsin (DFD) owned projects, preferred
  • Experience working for Engineering Consulting Firm, A/E firm, or plumbing contractor
  • Working knowledge using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, as well as Microsoft office Suite of products
  • Ability to organize and plan efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
